They are human beings with some genetic variation that gives them special characteristics, which makes them the most persecuted minority in the world. Given the circumstance, Professor Xavier creates an institution that serves as a refuge for these beings. They are prepared to accept and master their powers in order to fight intolerance and the growing collective hysteria that threatens its existence. But the rejection of the mutants increases even more when one of them launches a devastating attack, which gives rise to a public rejected against them and the reinforcement of the Mutant Registry Act, whose leader, William Stryker, intends to eliminate them by attacking the school of X Men.
