    Sinopsis

    Northern Italy before World War II (1939-1945). Miss Bentley (Vanessa Redgrave) is a happy woman who spends her vacation in a tourist hostel on the shores of the Lake. He feels like in her own home, since she has always venated there since she was a girl. But on this occasion the English tourist falls in love with the handsome Wilshaw (Edward Fox), a new host of the hotel, which treats her with enough indifference while she is very interested in a beautiful and young American, Miss Beaumont (Uma Thurman ).
