SinopsisAmerican Civil War (1861-1865). The horses that the Union's army urgently needs are systematically stolen by four people who lead them to the south. It is concluded that within the fort there must necessarily have a traitor. Although the pack conducted by Captain Lex Kearney (Gary Cooper) follows a route that nobody knows, they are again attacked by the four and have to retire. Kearney is then tried by cowardice. Although he alleges that the numeric superiority of the enemy would have meant the death of his men, the sentence is unappealable: Lex Kearney is degraded and expelled from the army.
