    Sinopsis

    The Lovers of Gibraltar initially places us in the Byzantine Empire, which at the beginning of the 8th century must face the onslaught of the Arab conquest and the push of growing Islamism in the area. To avoid this, Emperor Justinian II commissions his advisor Angelos to act as a spy and manage to divert the attention of the Arab caliphs and emirs to Spain, which takes him on an exciting journey, full of intrigue and adventure, to the strait that separates the Maghreb of the Peninsula, in front of what was then known as Monte Calpe. Angelos carries out intense negotiations with Walid I, but finally, in the year 711, it will be the love between the beautiful Florinda and the general Tariq ibn Ziyad that ends up causing the Arab landing in what would soon be known as Jabal Tariq or Tariq mountain, later Spanishized as Gibraltar. And later Tariq would arrive to Toledo.
