Can a man endure living 30 years by continually changing his identity? Is there anyone capable of withstanding the tension and fear of infiltrating terrorist and mafia groups again and again without losing confidence in themselves and those around them? Mikel Lejarza, alias ''Lobo'', was a young, beardless man when he was captured by the secret service to infiltrate the terrorist group ETA. The result was spectacular: more than 200 terrorists were arrested and their infrastructure throughout Spain deactivated. Having undergone cosmetic surgery so that no one would ever identify him again, he infiltrated mafia and economic groups, continuing to fight against ETA and international terrorism to this day. After infiltrating a high-level corporate espionage network in Catalonia, he is arrested without the secret service coming to the fore to defend that he was working for them. ''Lobo'' is tired of living in hiding, his stomach suffers the consequences of so much tension, he questions the loneliness in which he lives and contemplates abandoning espionage. Some time later he disappears, taking with him many secrets from his past life. No one knows anything about him until shortly after the 9/11 attacks on the United States. The CIA discovers in an anti-terrorist operation against Al Qaeda in Dubai that one of the Arabs involved is Mikel Lejarza. If you don't work for any intelligence service: what are you doing in the most dangerous gang in the world? The world of espionage, which Fernando Rueda, the leading Spanish specialist on the subject, knows so well, is the protagonist of this novel. But so is love, discouragement, suffering, the traumatic consequences of split personality, values, dreams and disappointment.
